Job Description

Job Description:

Title: Product Manager, Eligibility & Benefits
Team: Product
Location: Remote; Canada (EST or CST)
Travel: ~10%

Why this Role Exists

As a Product Manager for our Eligibility & Benefits portfolio, you will play a key role in shaping and scaling one of Phreesia’s fastest-growing product areas. This role exists to ensure that healthcare organizations can seamlessly verify patient eligibility and benefits through secure, compliant, and highly reliable data exchange.

You’ll help drive the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of solutions that power real-time EDI transactions and enable better access to care. By partnering closely with engineering, data science, clients, and external vendors, you will translate complex healthcare data requirements into intuitive, high-impact product capabilities.

We’re looking for curious, driven people who want to make healthcare better — for patients and for the teams working behind the scenes. We help healthcare organizations succeed in an ever-evolving landscape by improving how care is delivered and experienced.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing

  • Analyze, define, and manage functional requirements and system specifications for the Eligibility & Benefits product portfolio

  • Own and execute against your product roadmap, aligning priorities with company strategy and client needs

  • Serve as a product champion across the organization, ensuring clarity and alignment among internal stakeholders

  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and user stories to guide engineering teams

  • Drive go-to-market strategies and support successful launches in partnership with Product Leadership, Market Development, Client Success, and Marketing

  • Build compelling business cases for new features and enhancements through cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with engineering and data science to define system functionality and guide Agile development processes

  • Monitor system performance metrics and leverage data-driven insights to inform product decisions

  • Support and train operations teams to ensure successful product adoption and execution

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You are passionate about improving access to care and making a meaningful impact in healthcare

  • You are a strong communicator who can clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

  • You thrive in cross-functional environments and enjoy collaborating across engineering, data, operations, and client-facing teams

  • You are a thoughtful problem solver who uses data to inform decisions

  • You bring a leadership mindset and enjoy mentoring and supporting more junior team members

  • You have a deep interest in user experience and building products that solve real-world challenges

We Do Have a Few Requirements to Check

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 3+ years of product management or data/analytics experience, ideally in healthcare or a high-growth B2B SaaS environment using Agile methodologies

  • Deep expertise in EDI 270/271 transactions, including eligibility verification workflows, payer integration standards, and HIPAA-compliant data exchange

  • Experience working with healthcare data formats and APIs, including FHIR, HL7, and ANSI X12

  • Proven experience integrating with vendor systems and third-party platforms for real-time EDI transactions

  • Experience with EMR/EHR integrations strongly preferred

  • Experience leading product initiatives across multiple product teams

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define and leverage key metrics to drive product vision

  • Excellent organizational, project management, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Previous mentoring experience is a plus

Where You’ll Work

This is a remote role, with the expectation that you’re based in EST or CST in Canada.
Approximately 10% travel is required for client visits, team meetings, and offsite events.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Base salary: CAN: 115K – 125K CAD (depending on experience)
  • A comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your whole life — not just your work.

Disclosure: This posting is to fill an existing vacancy.
