Job Description
Amphenol Energy Technologies is a leading manufacturer of high-performance interconnect solutions serving the energy, industrial, and harsh-environment markets. In this role, the Product Manager is responsible for defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap. This position serves as the link between customer needs, business objectives, and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales. The Product Manager guides the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch and ongoing optimization, ensuring products meet market demands and achieve business objectives through research, requirements definition, and cross-functional coordination.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting engineered products in industrial, manufacturing, or energy-related environments.
This is a remote-based role that requires periodic travel and on-site presence at manufacturing facilities.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to gain a full understanding of product line objectives while working independently toward achieving those goals
- Ability to maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned product(s), including key and strategic customers, costs and pricing, sales opportunities, competition, market conditions, and manufacturing methods
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to analyze margins, pricing, and financial performance
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional communication skills
- Customer-focused and results-driven mindset
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting cable assemblies, connectors, or other engineered products used in harsh-environment or industrial applications
- Experience working in cross-functional manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Support and enable the success of the product line; responsible for execution of determined product and set strategies
- Identify and execute monthly order goals, assisting Sales in order closure
- Target and implement cost reduction programs
- Identify and prioritize new product needs and opportunities
- Identify new standards and certifications to maintain industry competitiveness
- Project manage new product developments
- Maintain technical expertise on assigned product lines and related industries
- Manage strategic inventory releases to maximize profit and sales
- Review incoming margins daily and drive actions as needed
- Meet margin expectations for both orders and revenue
- Establish and maintain pricing guidelines
- Provide pricing for corporate contacts, maximizing share and profit
- Create and track cost estimates on new products
- Utilize Marketing Communications to develop content across web, print, and multimedia platforms
- Develop regular promotional plans for product lines
- Consistently review competitor promotional positioning
- Regularly visit key customers
- Lead pricing decisions that maximize Amphenol share and profit
- Develop and implement channel strategy with Distribution and OEM Sales teams
- Interface with distributors and Distribution Sales teams to maximize market presence
- Support training efforts for Direct Sales and Distribution teams
- Interface at all levels of departmental and executive management
- Responsible for direction, strategy, and revenue growth for assigned product lines
- Responsible for BOM accuracy within ERP/MRP systems
