Job Description
Role Description
At Collective Health, we’re transforming how employers and their people engage with their health benefits by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology, compassionate service, and world-class user experience design.
We’re seeking an Internal Communications Director to lead a strategic, high-impact function that brings our story to life for employees — from our employer brand and onboarding experience to everyday communications, engagement, and culture.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll serve as Collective Health’s chief storyteller and culture catalyst, building a unified voice that connects employees to our strategy, leaders, and purpose. You’ll drive the communications to evolve and always improve on the end-to-end employee experience, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects our values and strengthens our culture.
This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll work with the executive leadership team to define the company’s internal communications vision while building the programs and systems to make it scale. The right candidate will be excited by the opportunity to shape a next-generation communications function at a company that’s transforming an industry.
What you'll do:
- Develop, lead, and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with Collective Health’s business priorities, culture, and brand.
- Influence the end-to-end employee experience journey with a cohesive communications plan — from employer brand and recruitment marketing to onboarding, employee engagement, and internal storytelling.
- Partner with Marketing and Talent Acquisition to elevate Collective Health’s employer brand in the market, ensuring a consistent and compelling narrative from first touch through long-term engagement.
- Lead high-impact communication moments — from organizational announcements and company meetings to leadership toolkits and campaigns — ensuring clarity, empathy, and accountability in every message.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic communications partner to the executive leadership team, crafting clear and compelling messaging during both steady-state and high-stakes moments.
- Translate complex business strategies into simple, inspiring narratives that connect every employee to the company’s mission and impact.
- Establish metrics to measure communication reach, engagement, and impact — and use insights to continuously refine strategies.
Qualifications
- 15 years of experience in internal communications — ideally in high-growth or healthcare companies.
- Experience advising senior executives, navigating organizational change, and translating complex strategies into clear, relatable narratives.
- Expertise building alignment across cross-functional partners (People, Marketing, Product, and Operations) to deliver unified experiences.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editing skills — with a demonstrated ability to craft content that informs, inspires, and motivates diverse audiences.
- Strong operational discipline — able to balance creative storytelling with process excellence and measurable outcomes.
- Comfort working at all levels of execution — strategic, operational, and tactical.
Requirements
- This job can be performed in a location where we have an office: San Francisco, CA, Lehi, UT, or Plano, TX, with the expectation of being in office at least two weekdays per week, or hired for remote work in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, MI, MN, NV, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI.
- The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
- In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
- Remote Pay Range: $171,000 — $213,500 USD.
Benefits
- Mission-driven culture that values innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence in healthcare.
- Impactful projects that shape the future of our organization.
- Opportunities for professional development through internal mobility opportunities, mentorship programs, and courses tailored to your interests.
- Flexible work arrangements and a supportive work-life balance.
