- Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and transform large Medicaid datasets.
- Translate policy requirements and business rules into efficient, testable data pipelines and transformations.
- Develop and implement data quality assurance mechanisms to ensure the accuracy and integrity of sensitive PHI data.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build, test, and deploy automated data pipelines within cloud-based platforms.
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to document, refine, and meet project data requirements.
- Generate reporting and analytical outputs that provide insights for program management and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with government data standards, security protocols, and privacy regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a data scientist or in a similar data-focused role.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and strong programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and modern cloud-based data platforms.
- Ability to translate complex policy requirements into accurate and efficient data transformations.
- Experience with data validation, integrity checks, and managing sensitive healthcare datasets.
- Prior exposure to healthcare, CMS, or state Medicaid data is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.
- U.S. citizenship required; must perform all work within the United States and able to pass a public trust background check.
