Job Description
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, international business, logistics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive U.S. import operations experience in a customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or in-house corporate trade compliance environment
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. import regulations, including CBP requirements, HTSUS classification, valuation, and country of origin rules
- Prior experience managing external customs brokers or freight forwarders
- Proficiency with ACE portal reporting and import filing workflows, as well as experience with ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle or similar) and broker portals
- Familiarity with CBP enforcement trends, penalties, prior disclosures, audits, and best practices for maintaining a robust import compliance program
- Experience with Partner Government Agencies (e.g., TSCA, FDA, USDA, EPA, DOT), including understanding of permit, license, and documentation requirements
- Understanding of recordkeeping requirements and retention practices for import documentation
- Advanced MS Excel skills and strong proficiency in other MS Office applications for reporting and analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Clear, confident communicator with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for non‑experts
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License and/or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) credential
- Familiarity with duty drawback and a manufacturing environment
