This role offers the opportunity to build and operate large-scale systems that protect a global platform and its community. You will focus on detecting and mitigating fraud, safeguarding both online and offline interactions, and enhancing the trustworthiness of every user experience. Working closely with product, data science, and operations teams, you will develop highly available, real-time risk detection services, addressing evolving attack vectors while maintaining system reliability and scalability. - Design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient distributed systems to detect and prevent fraud.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand emerging risks and build platform capabilities to counter them.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and direction for Trust Platform services, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in system efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence, and drive implementation.
- Mentor engineers to develop technical expertise and collaboration skills, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Participate in advancing engineering processes, platform architecture, and technical foundations.
Qualifications
- 5β9+ years of industry experience in backend software engineering.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Ruby, or Kotlin; familiarity with Scala is a plus.
- Experience designing and building service-oriented, large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience leading projects and providing technical direction within engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of platform architecture patterns, best practices, and reliability considerations.
- Experience in trust, risk, fraud prevention, or security domains is highly desirable.
- Ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with building and leading infrastructure projects is a plus.
