We are seeking a detail‑driven Credentialing Specialist to support the accurate and timely credentialing of providers in a remote environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory agencies, and organizational policies—helping our providers focus on what matters most: patient care.

 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a compliance‑focused role, communicates clearly, and can manage multiple priorities under pressure while working independently.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

 

In this role, you will manage end‑to‑end credentialing activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing timely and accurate primary source verification
  • Completing accurate and timely data entry of all credentialing activities into the credentialing database 
  • Coordinating credentialing, recredentialing, and delegated credentialing activities
  • Maintaining credentialing files and documentation in compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards 
  • Providing excellent customer service and ongoing communication to providers, physician office staff, and internal teams
  • Educating providers on the credentialing process and maintaining consistent follow‑up
  • Identifying trends, assisting with performance improvement initiatives, and supporting reporting efforts
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, bylaws, and government regulations

 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

 

Experience

  • 3 years of credentialing/privileging experience, or
  • 1 year of credentialing experience plus 2 years of clinical experience
  • Relevant education may substitute for experience (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field)

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of organization and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Data entry proficiency and comfort working in credentialing systems
  • Knowledge of compliance, accreditation, and regulatory standards
  • Adaptability in a remote work environment

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
