Role Description
- Review Patients’ insurance coverage for real-time eligibility screening, assessment of patients’ financial requirements, and counseling patients on their insurance benefits and copayments.
- Ensure all insurance, demographic, eligibility, and signature information is documented in the patient’s account.
- Re-verify benefits.
- Serve as a liaison between the patient and Family Allergy & Asthma.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 3-year medical billing office experience, required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of deductibles, copays, coinsurance, etc.
- Knowledge of insurance carrier guidelines, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10 and CPT).
- Availity clearinghouse experience preferred.
