Role Description

ATS is focused on growing our market leading position to continue driving growth. In order to do that, we’re looking for passionate people with an entrepreneurial spirit to help us take on this massive opportunity as we help the world transform the way they build better automation. The Sales Manager, North America will be responsible for promoting and supporting products and services for the ATS’ Technology and Products division primarily in the United States, while also supporting Canada and Mexico as needed.

In this position, you will be a key member of a close-knit team that is responsible for owning and driving the go-to-market strategy, while leading the sales cycle. You will be an advocate for the customer and work as a liaison between the direct sales force, customers and operations. As part of a customer focused team, you will provide direct support to service, parts, engineering, manufacturing and customers to resolve technical issues that affect the sales, installation and utilization of the organization’s products and/or services.

This position requires prerequisite experience in developing relationships with machine builders and automation system integrators, for the purpose of integrating ATS linear motor technology (ATS SuperTrak) into their custom and standard solutions. Additionally, ATS strongly prefers the candidate to have experience working in the automated primary and secondary packaging space.

This is a remote position; however, candidates must be located within the Eastern Time Zone. Preference will be given to candidates based in the U.S. Midwest due to the high concentration of packaging integrators in the region.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create and execute the annual sales plan in funnel and bookings that delivers year-over-year growth through customer base targeting at developing machine builders and integrators relationships focused on packaging and high-speed assembly.
  • Generating customer leads to support market growth by networking and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Represent the company effectively with comprehensive knowledge of our offerings and give product introduction presentations to new customers.
  • Assist in analysis of customer applications and execute quotations.
  • Drive achievement of monthly targets in customer visits, and conversion of activity to developing actionable funnel that can be converted to new orders.
  • Support customers by providing technical and commercial information requested.
  • Provide customer feedback about product trends to the product commercialization and marketing teams.
  • Recommend pricing for special machine configurations & option requests.
  • Perform project analysis and supply completed proposals to the customer.
  • Make technical sales presentations in support of the activity of the field sales force.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Automation Product Sales and Account Management experience with a focus on long term relationship building within the automation space (machine builders, automation system integrators).
  • Experience in CAPEX sales process.
  • Excellent organization and communications skills in managing complex sales processes.
  • Experience in concepts of continuous improvement, and return on investment (ROI) theory of automation.
  • Industry knowledge for Medical Device, EV Battery, Consumer Electronics is preferred.
  • Excellent intuition to find solutions to fuel business growth opportunities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 40% of the time.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automation applications is a must.
  • Solid record of sales performance.

  • Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
  • Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
  • Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
