Role Description
The Senior Java Developer will support the maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of legacy enterprise applications supporting federal law enforcement operations. The developer will work within established enterprise environments to maintain mission-critical systems while supporting incremental modernization initiatives. This position requires strong experience supporting enterprise Java applications, system integration, and secure software development within government environments.
WORK SITE: Remote
PAY RATE: $85.00 -$90.00 per hour
What You'll Do:
- Maintain and enhance existing enterprise Java applications
- Analyze legacy system architecture and implement improvements
- Develop application components using Java, JSP, and enterprise frameworks
- Support system integrations with databases and enterprise services
- Troubleshoot application issues and perform root cause analysis
- Optimize application performance and reliability
- Support migration efforts to modern platforms where applicable
- Ensure applications comply with federal security and compliance requirements
- Provide technical guidance to development teams
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of enterprise Java development experience
- Experience supporting legacy Java platforms such as Java EE, WebSphere, or Tomcat
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server
- Experience maintaining large enterprise applications
- Familiarity with secure development practices within federal environments
- Strong troubleshooting and system analysis skills
