Role Description
In this role, you will…
- Manage a book of Senior Care business to maintain and enhance strong insured and distribution partner (DP) relationships with goal to retain existing and grow new business flow.
- Analyze and underwrite small to medium-sized Senior Care risks while developing skills to underwrite larger complex Senior Care risks and offer appropriate underwriting solutions for clients, while focusing on profitability targets as determined by the company.
- Use all available underwriting information to meet and exceed client expectations with timely turnaround and delivery of appropriate pricing and insurance structure.
- Engage and maintain excellent communication with internal team members.
- Meet and deliver MedPro Group’s standards of obsessive client focus to each Senior Care client.
- Understand and execute on key underwriting role in all market strategies, including supporting the development of assigned DPs.
- Perform risk analysis, including (but not limited to): coverage evaluation, as well as terms and conditions of offer and apply risk analysis to determine appropriate structure and pricing, seeking authority approval and guidance when necessary.
- Travel with a senior member of the Senior Care team for strategic business and sales initiatives to increase underwriting of front line products; serve as key contact for assigned DPs, working to address clients’ concerns and needs; identify opportunities to profitably grow new business and retain existing business.
- Establish and maintain excellent communication with internal team members that support Specialty; collaborate with them to identify opportunities and strategies to maintain profitability, increase new business writings, and retain existing customers.
- Work within authority and understand escalation requirements within the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent experience.
- 5 years experience underwriting Senior Care exposures.
- Strong internal and external communication, analytical, negotiation and organizational skills.
- Strong PC Skills.
- Experience with underwriting process and procedures on Senior Care primary and excess which require unique rating techniques and policy language modifications.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with Distribution Partners.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate timely and appropriate account management while achieving compliance requirements.
- RPLU, CPCU or IIA designation (preferred but not required).
