Role Description

GAI is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer 3 to join our Power Delivery team. Required skills include:

Candidates with good experience and knowledge in PLS-CADD are eligible for remote work.

The Transmission Line Engineer 3 position is responsible for technical leadership and the successful delivery of transmission line designs while maintaining the scope, schedule, budget, and quality of projects within GAI’s Transmission & Distribution Division. This individual should be technically focused and a strong leader with developed technical, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

  • 8+ Years of Experience
  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states

Requirements

  • Complete day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery, including:
    • Preparation of Specification Packages
    • Preparation of Structural and Fabrication Drawings
    • Design and Analysis of Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower
    • Design and Analysis of foundations
    • Analysis of existing and proposed structures with regard to Client and Other required codes, standards, and specifications
    • Performance of Electrical Clearance checks and calculations
    • Coordination and development of permits for Railroads, Roadways, and Environmental Crossings
    • Apply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power Delivery Projects
    • Demonstrate attention to detail
    • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Perform complex tasks typically following established processes
    • Implement effective engineering methods, provide technical guidance, and act as a resource for engineers and designers
    • Directly manage projects with no limit to the number or value of individual projects managed
    • Coordinate and develop proposed scope, schedule, and fee for projects managed
    • Assist in quality control and quality assurance of active projects, providing peer reviews and training of engineers and designers in quality control processes
