Job Description
Role Description
We're seeking a Back End Engineer to build and enhance the critical services that power our business. You’ll be developing systems that manage core financial and underwriting operations, coordinating dynamic machine learning models to increase the intelligence of our industry-leading policy management solution, and optimizing our application’s architecture and observability to meet the performance and reliability demands of our customers.
- Design and implement client-facing and internal APIs
- Orchestrate data flows between backend systems
- Create and manage database schemas
- Build automated test suites
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain key product features
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 3-5 years experience in a full stack or backend role
Requirements
- Professional experience with Go
- Experience building high performance client/server systems
- Good grasp of service-oriented architecture patterns
- Prior experience designing and using relational databases
- Strong communication skills
- Effective cross-functional collaborator
- Bias towards action
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with technologies including GraphQL, gRPC, Postgres, Mongo, Snowflake, Kafka, Python, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Experience in a financial sector such as insurance, banking, or investing
Salary
$155,000 to $210,000*
*Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata. Location
We are a remote-first company for most positions so you may work from anywhere you like in the U.S, excluding U.S. territories. For most positions, occasional travel may be requested or encouraged but is not required. Some positions might require travel per the job description provided to the employee. Employees based in the San Francisco Bay Area or in Providence, Rhode Island may commute to one of our local offices as desired.
Hours
We maintain core meeting hours from 9AM - 2PM Pacific time for collaborating with team members across all time zones.
