Role Description
The Retail Compliance Manager is responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of the Retail Compliance Program to ensure our organization meets customer, retailer and industry compliance standards. This role provides strategic direction, ensures alignment across cross-functional teams and directly supports the success of customer and retailer partnerships. The Retail Compliance Manager oversees the Compliance Specialist positions and collaborates across departments to drive compliance excellence. This salaried position will report to the Vice President of Operational Excellence.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of retailer compliance specifications during customer onboarding.
- Partner with Information Technology to guide and approve retailer document development, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure Transportation, Operations, and related teams receive accurate and timely compliance information for execution.
- Establish and maintain standardized compliance documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization.
- Lead the development and delivery of training programs to support compliance knowledge across teams and functions.
- Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert for retail compliance, influencing decision-making at both operational and strategic levels.
- Conduct audits and reviews of compliance processes, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor industry and retailer compliance trends, adapting internal processes to proactively address new requirements.
- Represent the organization in compliance-related discussions with customers and retail partners, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
- Manage and allocate compliance resources effectively, assigning work and overseeing execution to meet deadlines and performance standards.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience coaching and developing staff.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into clear, actionable guidance.
- Proficiency in warehouse and transportation systems, compliance processes, and data integration workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions.
- Professional presence and ability to collaborate effectively with executives, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business management.
- 3+ years of experience in project management, compliance management, data analysis, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of managing compliance programs in a retail, 3PL, or logistics environment.
Physical Capabilities and Requirements
- Work remotely and out of an office in Appleton, WI; Dallas, TX; Northampton, PA, or Sauk Village, IL.
- Comfortable periodically working in a warehouse and interacting with site team members.
- Periodic travel (Up to 25%) will be needed to help train and further document processes at facilities.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
Compensation
$95,000-$115,000 Annually
