Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our team and play a crucial role in managing personal injury cases while supporting our esteemed legal practice in estate planning. This position is vital to ensuring that our clients receive the attention and advocacy they deserve. By effectively managing smaller personal injury cases and assisting with litigation preparation, you will empower our attorney to focus on high-value and complex matters, ultimately enhancing our legal service delivery and client satisfaction.

Primary focus is Personal Injury (including smaller cases end-to-end through pre-lit), with secondary support for probate/estate planning matters as needed.

  • Litigation + Trial Support: Draft, organize, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and trial-related documents; support matters from intake through trial and resolution.
  • Law & Motion + Deadlines: Calendar and track litigation deadlines, discovery schedules, motion timelines, court dates, and trial milestones—keeping everything on time and filing-ready.
  • Trial Preparation: Prepare and organize trial materials, exhibits, witness files, and case binders; coordinate deposition/hearing prep logistics as needed.
  • E-Filing + Service: Handle e-filings (One Legal or similar), track confirmations, and ensure proof of service/service completion is properly documented.
  • Case Management (Clio): Maintain accurate, complete, trial-ready files in Clio with clear task workflows and documentation standards.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a primary/secondary point of contact; provide timely updates and help prep clients for depositions, IMEs, and court/trial appearances.
  • Medical Records + Damages: Request, track, and organize records/billing; assist with medical chronologies, summaries, and damages documentation.
  • Probate/Trust Support (Secondary): Assist with filings and organization as needed and flag litigation-adjacent issues (discovery disputes, fiduciary issues, real property overlaps).

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years in personal injury case management, from intake to pre-litigation.
  • Proficiency in Clio and willingness to learn new legal technologies and AI tools.
  • Familiarity with One Legal (or similar e-filing tools) is strongly preferred.
  • Interest in testing tools like Supio (and other AI-enabled tools) to improve settlement demand preparation and case efficiency.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred; strong client interaction skills necessary.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
  • Foundation in discovery, pleadings, and basic litigation procedures.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $1,500–$2,000/month (global hire contractor; based on experience).
  • Core working hours are 10:00 AM–6:00 PM PT, with reasonable flexibility as long as deadlines are met and you remain responsive to the team.
  • If a retirement option is available, details will be shared during the offer stage.
  • This is a contractor role and does not include traditional benefits. If any retirement option is available, details will be shared during the offer stage.
  • Utilize the latest Apple systems and legal technology tools.
  • Work with a diverse team, broadening your professional network.
