Job Description
Role Description
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications. This includes verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Your Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions as a Primary Verification Pharmacist (PV1) first pass for accuracy, appropriate dosing, intake forms, and potential interactions prior to going to filling and final verification.
- Counsel patients on proper use, potential side effects, and storage.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, telehealth regulations, and state pharmacy board requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to support patient care via phone or email.
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and providers via phone, SMS, email, or any other appropriate electronic means.
What Success Looks Like
- Maintain greater than 99% prescription verification accuracy.
- Review prescriptions within SLA targets.
- Identify and escalate potential patient safety concerns.
- Support efficient fulfillment by minimizing verification delays.

Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
- Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing with the state board.
- Strong preference for experience with Pharmetika software.
- Experience working in telehealth, mail-order, or digital pharmacy environments preferred.
- Experience with obesity medicine, metabolic health, or GLP-1 therapies preferred.
- Experience working in high-volume digital prescription workflows.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and clinical guidelines.
- Comfortable working in asynchronous clinical environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
