Role Description

The Sr. Visual Designer, Presentation Specialist is responsible for elevating how Symetra communicates complex insurance, investment and retirement concepts through strategic, brand-aligned presentations. This role also supports the Senior and Lead Visual Designers by designing, refining and maintaining high-impact presentation materials used across sales, marketing, executive leadership and board communications. Blending strong visual storytelling with brand governance, the Presentation Specialist ensures presentations are clear, accessible and consistent—balancing creativity with professionalism in a highly regulated industry. The role also serves as the owner and steward of Symetra’s enterprise presentation system, including templates, standards and best practices.

What you will do

  • Design, deliver and manage a cohesive, enterprise-wide Presentation Design System that supports divisional marketing teams, leadership and board-level communications.
  • Develop role as a presentation “center of excellence” supporting Symetra sales and marketing communicators.
  • Apply a strategic storytelling approach to presentations, ensuring each slide supports the narrative, audience needs and business objectives.
  • Translate complex financial, insurance and retirement topics into clear, compelling visual narratives using data visualization and infographics.
  • Establish best practices for content balance, visual hierarchy, accessibility and slide structure to support effective presentation delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of design excellence and consistency in alignment with Symetra’s Brand System.
  • Some knowledge how AI-powered presentation tools can improve efficiency, ideation and consistency while maintaining brand and compliance standards.
  • Produce and own the Symetra Story presentation that helps tell our corporate narrative and the highest level.
  • Support design production for select high level presentations (i.e. National Sales Meeting, CEO presentations, Brand presentations, high visibility sales decks).
  • Review, refine and elevate select high visibility existing presentation decks to meet enterprise storytelling and design standards.
  • Assess, manage and continuously improve corporate presentation templates for usability, functionality and brand alignment.
  • Provide design reviews, guidance and feedback to internal teams creating high visibility presentation materials.
  • Help creators meet ADA accessibility requirements for high visibility external presentation materials.
  • Support divisional marketing materials across both traditional and digital channels.
  • Support digital asset management, file organization and enterprise training resources related to presentation usage.

Qualifications

  • Advanced expertise in PowerPoint; working knowledge of presentation platforms like Visme, Canva and Prezi.
  • Strong visual design, layout and storytelling capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite to support brand assets and ad hoc design needs.
  • Understanding of brand systems and experience working within regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted design and presentation tools and their practical application in enterprise environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across marketing, sales, leadership and design teams.
  • High school diploma required.
