Role Description

We are looking for a contract lawyer in the tax team who can look at contracts through tax and business logic. The main task is to check and build the contract structure so that it is legally correct, operationally feasible, and does not create unnecessary tax risks. The role is suitable for a specialist who confidently works with international contracts, intercompany deals, IP/licensing, and can interact with finance and audit.

What You Will Do

  • Check and approve contracts with a focus on tax risks: intercompany agreements, licensing / IP agreements, service agreements, agency / marketing / subcontractor contracts, and other cross-border contracts.
  • Identify risks and prepare comments on: CFC, TP (arm's length), withholding taxes (WHT), qualification of payments (royalties / services / other), PE / substance / beneficial ownership, and compliance of the contract with the actual operating model.
  • Ensure contract logic corresponds to: actual operations, financial flows, accounting reflection, and internal tax position.
  • Describe and build the tax review process for contracts: stages, control points, escalation criteria, and document requirements.
  • Participate in creating and updating: contract templates, tax-checklist for contracts, and approval standards.
  • Work in tandem with finance/audit: obtaining necessary data, clarifying the economic essence of operations, and forming a list of supporting documents.
  • Prepare clear legal-tax comments for the business and internal teams.
  • Participate in designing new processes for intercompany document flow.
  • Manage tasks in Jira, maintain working documentation and knowledge base.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in contract/tax practice (in-house or consulting).
  • Practical experience in international tax issues: CFC, transfer pricing, and tax risks in contracts.
  • Experience working with intercompany contracts and cross-border deals.
  • Understanding of arm's length and the role of TP documentation at an operational level.
  • Experience/understanding of IP and licensing structures, including IP box / innovation box (at least at the level of tax logic and contract risks).
  • Ability to write clear and applied comments on contracts.
  • English - confident written (contracts, correspondence, comments).
  • Experience with Jira.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Big4 / international legal or tax consulting.
  • Experience supporting TP defense / tax audit support.
  • Understanding of BEPS / substance / Pillar 2 (at an operational level).
  • Experience in gaming / iGaming / IT / digital products.
  • Confluence.
