This role is a remote role. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Familiarity with claim management concepts.
- Good understanding of medical terminology/pathology/anatomy.
- Good customer service and math skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Thorough knowledge of departmental/company procedures/practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 0 - 2 years of group insurance claims experience (Life and Accidental Death).
- Demonstrated proficiency in life insurance products or group benefits.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred).
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes new and ongoing Life and Accidental Death claims in a timely, accurate, and customer-focused manner.
- Obtains and reviews beneficiary, employer, financial, and other relevant documentation; evaluates information against contract terms, limitations, and administrative guidelines, and renders claim decisions in accordance with established procedures.
- Documents claim activity thoroughly and accurately within the claims system.
- Develops, updates, and follows claim management plans to support appropriate outcomes.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and operational standards while meeting or exceeding team productivity and quality metrics.
- Demonstrates strong product knowledge and proficiency in claims administration processes.
- Provides empathetic, professional customer service in all interactions.
- Anticipates customer needs, takes appropriate action, and builds trust with beneficiaries and employers.
- Collaborates with internal partners to support workflow efficiency and team objectives while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- Performs other related duties as required.
