Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a Category Insights Analyst to build compelling selling stories for customers and internal teams. This role will support our sales team with regular reporting and analysis. In addition to managing syndicated data sources, this role will proactively look for unique insights and new data-driven ‘nuggets’ to help shape our strategies and selling stories.
- Support the sales team in developing data-driven narratives and building retailer presentations.
- Manage monthly syndicated data reporting and analysis and bring a confident voice when sharing key learnings.
- Develop category and retail channel expertise as well as a strong understanding of Deep’s performance and competition.
- Prepare best-in-class reports & insights-driven presentations for both internal teams and external retailer partners, integrating relevant data into a cohesive output that summarizes key learnings and provides actionable recommendations.
- Help create and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, educating the organization on data capabilities, tools, and interpretation.
- Assist in managing our relationship with the syndicated data sources (SPINS/IRI/Nielsen), ensuring seamless monthly delivery of accurate data and efficient use of resources.
- Support overall Sales activities as needed.
- Actively contribute to developing the overall Deep Indian Kitchen team culture.
Qualifications
- BA/BS
- 1-3 years of experience in CPG with exposure to category management, sales, product management or customer insights
- Strong analytical ability, comfortable working with multiple sources of data
- Data organization and visualization skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including pivot tables, and complex formulas
- Experience working with syndicated data (such as Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, etc.)
- A passion and understanding of how to leverage data to create a story that communicates a compelling narrative
- Strong communication skills, ability to build interpersonal relationships, and the capacity to sit comfortably with ambiguity
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Ability to self-motivate, prioritize and organize
- Willingness to work remotely
- Travel requirement for quarterly in-person team meetings
