Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing or related field with background in a technical field is a plus.
- Knowledgeable of defense procurement and proposal process following Shipley model.
- Expertise in proposal technical writing and editing, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Proven ability to create and maintain a variety of technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in creating visually appealing and well-organized documents, including integrating diagrams, charts, and illustrations.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather technical specifications and ensure document accuracy.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to ensure all documentation aligns with Government and DoD standards for clarity, consistency, and compliance.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for Government or DoD projects, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and security protocols.
- Knowledge of the business development of lifecycle practices, such as Shipley methodologies.
- Experience with federal government sector and proposal processes, with prior knowledge of Navy engineering (Ships, subs, IT & governance, and/or aviation subjects).
- Ability to gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to improve technical documentation.
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Experience with knowledge management practices, including the upkeep and organization of documentation for future use.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Pro and other industry-standard technical writing tools.
