As a Senior Technical Program Manager Lead, you will have end-to-end accountability for the delivery of programs. You'll lead strategic programs from planning to sustainment while reporting the program benefits to the Executive Sponsors and Governance Boards.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a group of Project Managers by coaching, guiding, and mentoring them while providing thought leadership and helping elevate delivery standards.
  • Leading program definition, planning, scope, and execution of assigned programs, managing the health status of programs to anticipate risks and/or issues and implement mitigation plans.
  • Defining integrated program plans (including detailed work breakdown structures) and the deliverables required for the program's success.
  • Identifying dependencies and interdependencies between programs and successfully scoping, sizing, and leading implementation of identified transformation/growth opportunities.
  • Working independently and comfortably in ambiguous circumstances to create clear paths forward for teams.
  • Adopting best-practice guidelines to influence and implement continuous improvements to PMO processes.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field or its equivalent.
  • Professional experience as a Project Manager/Program Manager in an IT organization.
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide credibility to technical teams and accurately and objectively evaluate risks and issues.
  • Experience working on projects/programs supporting infrastructure upgrades and installations.
  • Experience managing external implementation providers.
  • Solid leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills in addition to excellent presentation and communication abilities.
  • Successful track record of stakeholder management and leading effective communication across senior leadership and technical teams.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
