As a Strategic Account Manager, you'll support Questex's success by being a strategic marketing consultant to your clients to help achieve their marketing objectives. The ideal candidate has experience working with clients on B2B marketing or events.
Hospitality opens doors and expands opportunities for an entire world of qualified hospitality owners, operators, suppliers and industry professionals eager to do business. Decision makers mix with investors, developers, advisors and agents to expand their market value and grow in the experience economy.
Our marketplace brings together decision-makers across restaurants, bars, hotels, resorts, contract dining, and foodservice alongside investors, developers, advisors, and solution providers who fuel growth in the experience economy. This role gives you direct access to that ecosystem — and the ability to build revenue by connecting the right products and solutions with the people who buy them.
As our Strategic Account Manager, you will:
- Own and grow a portfolio of high-value strategic accounts (>$50m annually) across foodservice, beverage, alcohol, non-alcoholic, CPG, and hospitality supplier categories, leveraging a traditional B2B sales approach rooted in long-term partnerships, renewals, and account expansion.
- Sell integrated media and event solutions that include live events, sponsorships, experiential marketing, digital media, print, newsletters, and thought leadership, giving clients year-round visibility and multiple touchpoints with buyers.
- Build and manage executive-level relationships with C-suite, VP, and Director-level stakeholders across brand owners, distributors, restaurant groups, hotel companies, and suppliers, positioning media and event platforms as core business development tools.
- Drive annual revenue attainment by managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline development to proposal creation, contract negotiation, renewal, and close, across multiple brands and platforms.
- Develop strategic account plans that align client business goals with annual marketing and event calendars, ensuring consistent presence, measurable ROI, and long-term spend growth.
- Manage complex, multi-product deals that include booth sales, sponsorships, media packages, custom content, and experiential activations, coordinating internally to deliver seamless execution.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene using CRM tools, with a focus on predictable revenue, renewals, and upsell opportunities common in B2B media and events sales.
- Serve as a trusted commercial partner to clients, advising on how to reach operators, buyers, and decision-makers through a combination of in-person events and ongoing media engagement.
- Deliver a high-quality, professional B2B client experience from sale through execution, ensuring clients return year over year and expand their investment across the portfolio.
- Share market feedback and category insights with leadership to help refine products, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy across media and event brands.
What we’ll love about your background:
- Proven experience in B2B sales within media, events, sponsorship, advertising, or integrated marketing solutions, ideally within hospitality, foodservice, beverage, or CPG categories.
- Comfort selling multi-channel solutions that include live events, sponsorships, digital media, and content as part of long-term client partnerships.
- Strong understanding of how brands allocate marketing, sales, and event budgets and how decisions are made across annual planning cycles.
- Ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships, navigate procurement processes, and close complex deals with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience managing renewals, expansions, and multi-year agreements in a quota-carrying role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders and presenting integrated proposals.
- Strong CRM discipline and forecasting accuracy, with the ability to manage long sales cycles and layered deal structures.
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, editorial, and event teams to deliver on client commitments.
- An existing network within hospitality, foodservice, beverage, alcohol, or CPG industries that can accelerate pipeline development is a plus.
Your Experience and Education include:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrated successful business and management experience in high-end major national/global accounts.
Who you are as a Team Member:
- You proactively seek to adopt and implement diversity into your work, including valuing different backgrounds, experiences and thinking. You also embrace creating and nurturing a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Exceptional project management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and dive deep into tactical work.
- Good interpersonal skills, willingness to learn and continue to grow, and the confidence to infuse your own new ideas into marketing initiatives.
