Job Description
Role Description
TISTA Science and Technology is seeking a Senior Software/System Architect to join our growing team. This role involves:
- A highly skilled Senior Software/Systems Architect with deep expertise in Keysight Ixia technologies to support enterprise monitoring and cybersecurity initiatives.
- Leading the design, integration, and optimization of network observability solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure across sites.
- Architecting and implementing Keysight Ixia packet broker configurations to aggregate, filter, and distribute network traffic to monitoring and security tools.
- Leading the integration of Keysight Ixia with tools such as ForeScout, Splunk, and Palo Alto IPS to enhance visibility and threat detection across VA networks.
- Supporting clustering, port mapping, license management, and SSL certificate remediation for Ixia appliances.
- Collaborating with VA's Event and Incident Management teams to ensure accurate data flow and optimized network performance.
- Maintaining and updating the Monitoring Service Registry (MSR) with current architecture and system configurations.
- Providing technical leadership in the development of service-level metrics and KPIs for critical business transactions and infrastructure components.
- Participating in VA-wide refresh and upgrade projects involving Keysight Ixia, ForeScout, and other observability platforms.
- Documenting architectural decisions, configurations, and procedures to support standardization and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience configuring and managing Keysight Ixia packet brokers (e.g., Vision ONE, Vision X, Ixia Fabric Controller), including clustering and port optimization.
- Familiarity with VA systems and security requirements, including TLS/SSL remediation and EHRM Joint Security Architecture support.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, ServiceNow, and ForeScout integration.
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments, network security, and telemetry pipelines.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in plain language.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent.
- 10 Years of experience. Ten (10) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- The ability to pass a Tier 4/HIGH Background Investigation.

Pay Range
The pay for this position ranges from $90,730 to $103,500. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
