Role Description
This is a remote position. This position needs to reside in TX area and have hospital experience. This Director role will support hospitals in the South regions (TX, AR, KY, OH, GA).
- Must have Labor Productivity Management, Finance and Healthcare experience.

The Operations Performance team in our Performance Improvement Department is responsible for developing and implementing:
- Staffing standard practices
- Productivity management guidelines
- Labor budget target settings
- Other labor benchmarking tools and processes
- Seeking strong financial analyst skills, labor productivity within a large healthcare system.
- Responsible for providing consulting services which will contribute to the fiscal and operational well-being of CommonSpirit Health.
- Identifying needed improvements on a significant level in operating efficiencies and labor cost reductions.
- Directs management engineering and other consulting services for 40+ hospitals and affiliates of CommonSpirit Health.

Project work, consultation, management training, and management reporting aimed at improving:
- Efficiency
- Cost effectiveness
- Quality of operations for all CommonSpirit Health related entities
- Focus on labor cost management, which currently represents an annual expense in excess of $1,500,000,000 for 35,000 FTEs.
- Continual significant cost reductions through process redesign and strong management of labor costs are required for ongoing success.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years of hospital management engineering and/or management consulting experience.

At least 5 years of management experience with a track record of significant impact related to:
- Cost reduction
- Revenue enhancement
- Quality improvement
- Information systems implementation
- Line management experience.
- Teaching/mentoring experience in productivity measurement, monitoring, and improvement.
- Must have Productivity/Labor Management experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required (Business, Health Systems (Industrial) Engineering, Engineering Management, Finance preferred).
- Master's Degree preferred.

- Expertise in healthcare productivity management.
- Ability to remain abreast of changes in the field through continuing education and networking.
- Knowledge of benchmarking strategies, TQM/CQI tools and methodologies.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Personnel management techniques.
- Management of multiple conflicting projects toward successful conclusion within constricted time frames.
- Knowledgeable of budget development, management reporting, cost accounting application, and financial management.
- Broad understanding of business planning, hospital reimbursement, contracting, materials management, compliance issues, and Internal Audit.
- Preparation of Requests for Proposals.
- Analyzing and selecting vendors and negotiating contracts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced interpersonal and human relation skills.
- Ability to negotiate change with all levels of management and overcome resistance to that change.
- Analytical and conceptual thinker.
- Flexible approach, discretionary effort, organizational commitment, customer service orientation, innovation, and focus on teamwork.
