Role Description
At Gallagher Re, we’re looking for an experienced Life & Annuity Actuary (Reinsurance) to join our growing Life Solutions Group. In this role, you’ll use your technical expertise to create analytics tools and provide insights that support asset intensive life and annuity transactions and risk transfer solutions. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional service to clients.

With locations in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Minneapolis, or Portland, Maine (and other locations considered), you’ll have the flexibility to work where it suits you best.
How you'll make an impact
- Analyze and design reinsurance and risk transfer solutions for life and annuity clients.
- Develop pricing and evaluation models, maintain templates, and stay up to date with industry developments like PBR, RBC, and cash flow testing requirements.
- Research and analyze reinsurance transactions, track market trends, and identify opportunities to answer practical business questions.
- Present results to clients, prospects, and at industry events.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver innovative solutions.
- Evaluate reinsurer annuity new business pricing proposals and provide clients with advice to evaluate their options.
- Work closely with brokers, actuaries, and other analytical associates to deliver exceptional service and insights.
Qualifications
- FSA preferred, but ASA will be considered.
- At least 7 years of experience in life/annuity actuarial roles.
- Strong knowledge of pricing, product development, and statutory reinsurance accounting concepts.
- Some annuity pricing or product development experience is preferred.
- Experience with capital methodologies and knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS (a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in tools like Microsoft Excel (experience with other software is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills to present complex analyses in clear terms.
- A collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and a passion for learning and innovation.
