Role Description

Water Treatment Chemical Service Technician—San Jose, California

Chemical Service Technicians are responsible for sales support by maintaining the existing customer base in the South Bay of San Francisco. Responsibilities include:

• Solve customers' water problems.
• Treat industrial boilers and cooling towers to keep them energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
• Perform detailed water testing & analyses at Industrial sites, Medical Centers, and Commercial Buildings.
• Help sell Garratt-Callahan's proprietary chemical blends, equipment, & monitoring technology.
• Passivation of stainless steel in industrial water treatment systems.
• Help sell corrosion & scale inhibitors, coagulants, flocculants, biocides, bio-augmentation, feed & monitoring equipment, water management plans, reverse osmosis products.
• Help sell Water Safety Programs.
• Keep our existing customers happy.
• Help bring on new industrial customers.

Qualifications

• Technical degree such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Paper Science, or Water Resources.
• 4-year science degree required.
• One-year technical sales or internship related to water treatment chemicals preferred.
• Outside industrial sales experience is a plus.
• Must live in San Francisco Bay Area; South Bay is best.
• Familiarity with the industrial marketplace of the Bay Area.

Requirements

• Must be a capable Chemist.
• Garratt-Callahan does not sponsor work visas.
