Job Description
Role Description
The Import Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the import process for SAMBAZON goods. This role ensures compliance with local, national, and international trade regulations while facilitating the efficient movement of shipments from origin to destination.
This position offers a generous benefits package, annual bonus opportunity, and year-round half-day Fridays. This is a fully remote role, with SAMBAZON’s headquarters located in San Clemente, California. The hourly rate for this position is $25 to $29 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track international shipments to ensure timely arrival of goods
- Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, warehouse staff, and transportation providers
- Ensure shipments comply with all import and export regulations and documentation requirements
- Prepare and review documentation related to international transactions, including commercial invoices, duties, taxes, and shipping paperwork
- Monitor shipment status and resolve issues related to delays, customs clearance, or documentation discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of imports, shipment documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Communicate shipment updates with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners
- Support logistics planning and scheduling for inbound shipments
- Stay informed on current import/export regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred
- Proven work experience as an Import Coordinator or in a similar role
- Experience with drayage operations and warehouse coordination preferred
- Working knowledge of import procedures, customs regulations, and shipping documentation
- Familiarity with international freight documentation
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate with suppliers, customs brokers, and logistics partners
- Proficiency in TMS, ERP systems, port/customs web platforms, and Microsoft Office
