Portland Leather Goods is growing fast, and so is our Finance team! We’re looking for a Finance Coordinator to help support our cross-border operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of financial data. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and ready to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced company, and wants to build a career in finance or accounting. No prior experience is required - just a strong work ethic, a willingness to ask questions, and the ability to keep things accurate and on track.
You’ll support our Accounts Payable processes, help maintain spreadsheets, and ensure our financial records stay organized and compliant. We’ll teach you the technical side! What we really need is someone who takes pride in their work, stays curious, and follows through.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of accounts payable transactions using Excel and accounting systems.
- File receipts, track payments, and support clerical workflows with precision and attention to detail.
- Assist with compliance tracking to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and update spreadsheets, financial logs, and reports as needed.
- Support communication with vendors and internal teams, including those located in Mexico.
- Schedule meetings, manage shared calendars, and organize team workflows.
- Help with general administrative tasks such as document filing, handling correspondence, and maintaining shared files.
- Coordinate and support finance-related activities across multiple departments, including the Studio and new retail entities.
- Collaborate with other team members to streamline processes and reduce manual workload.
- Support ad hoc finance and operational tasks as assigned by the Payments Team.
Qualifications
- Location: This is a fully remote role, but occasional in-person meetings may occur.
- Attention to Detail: Must be accurate, organized, and able to follow specific guidelines consistently.
- Work Ethic: Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.
- Adaptability: Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Communication: Able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Time Management: Demonstrates strong prioritization and follow-through skills.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, formatting, and ideally pivot tables).
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, ClickUp, Office 365, Ramp, and IES is a plus.
- Experience Level: No prior finance experience required; ideal for a smart, motivated individual ready to learn and grow.
- Bonus: Basic understanding of accounting principles and/or past experience in clerical or organizational roles.
