Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant in the United States to be employed by our US branch to manage the books and financial reporting for a new line of business in the Cayman Islands. This role reports to the Corporate Controller. You will be responsible for:

  • Booking all journal entries for three entities
  • Managing accounts payable for three entities
  • Monthly reporting and analysis
  • Year-end IFRS financial statement preparation
  • Managing the year-end audit

The successful candidate will be a key part of the finance team and will provide critical insights for the strategic decision-making team. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced individual who wants to grow with a young organization.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Manage all accounting entries including management of accounts payable
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare monthly financial reports with detailed variance analysis to provide key insights to Senior management
  • Prepare annual audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Ad hoc reporting duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in corporate accounting preferably within the investment fund industry
  • Experience with monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Undergraduate degree with a focus on Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or commerce; CPA or equivalent certification
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and practices
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills are essential along with excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products
  • Experience dealing with audits is preferred but not mandatory
  • Exceptional ability to be highly collaborative and flexible in a very dynamic environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills that are above average
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Netsuite or Quickbooks is preferred)
