Job Description
OSI Systems and its subsidiaries is a vertically integrated provider of specialized electronic systems and for components that meet the critical needs in the homeland security, healthcare, defense, and aerospace industries. OSI Systems is seeking a Paralegal to join the team. This individual will support the General Counsel and staff Attorneys in a fast-paced and friendly environment. They must have an Associate of Arts or Bachelor's degree, and/or completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program with at least 3 years’ experience, preferably corporate/ transactional.
Responsibilities
- Perform substantive paralegal work under the supervision of corporate attorney.
- Assist in corporate maintenance, document preparation and management, discovery responses, etc.
- Exercise discretion and sound judgment concerning confidential information.
- Conduct all activities in a manner which is at all times fair, moral, ethical, and legal.
- Utilize MS Office to create mail merges and spreadsheets.
- Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- Must have associate of arts or bachelor's degree, and/or completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program.
- 3+ years of experience reviewing, editing, drafting and managing various types of contracts and other legal documents required.
- Experience with corporate/transactional work preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proficient in MS Word Office, with expertise in MS Office and MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task is expected.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently is required.
- Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, and prioritize appropriately.
- Manufacturing experience, preferably for a public reporting corporation helpful.
