Purpose

McLarens is searching for a Regional General Adjuster working in a designated region with the ability to
travel as needed. The Regional Adjuster’s main responsibilities will be to manage the resolution of first and
third-party claim exposures from coverage, investigative, and loss establishment perspectives. The
Regional Adjuster needs to be able to work in a collaborative and responsive fashion with varying levels of
supervision resolving complex commercial exposures. We are looking for an exceptional problem solver,
proactive thinker, strong communicator, team player, and self-starter.

Key Accountabilities

• Receive and review claim intake daily.
• Contact insurer, broker, and claimant to arrange appointment for first meeting.
• Visit insured to investigate risk, cause, circumstances, extent of loss, and damage.
• Review policy coverage raising questions with insurers, where appropriate, and recommend
resolutions.
• Timely reporting to clients with clear and comprehensive content.
• As appropriate, formulate technically precise correspondence specific to reservation of rights,
declination of coverage, and denial of liability.
• Ability to maintain diary and respond to stakeholder inquiries in timely and professional fashion.
• Effective claim management skills to liaise with insured, insurer, broker, retained experts, etc.
• Prepare scope of damage, loss measure, and costs schedule.
• Coordinate cost agreements with insured and claimant.
• Bring matters to a timely, equitable resolution in accordance with Coverage and/or Liability findings.
• Other duties as instructed by Leadership, including out-of-territory travel and catastrophe response,
as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial and residential property claims experience.
• 3+ years handling and managing complex, large losses.
• Appropriate state adjuster license(s).
• Regional claims experience.
• Experience handling complex commercial losses preferred.
• Established Broker/Carrier relationships.
• Experience with commercial and residential ISO policies including manuscript interpretations.
• Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating platforms.
• Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business to include familiarity with local
jurisdictional requirements and claim practices.
• Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritize.

• Ability to position self to inspect confined spaces, ascend and descend stairwells and ladders,
traverse roofs, and work atop roofs. (frequently)
• Ability to maintain balance while traversing on narrow, slippery, or sloping surfaces. (regularly)
• May exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly while moving objects. (Regularly)
• Transport objects weighing up to or exceeding 50 pounds. (regularly)
• Transport, unfold, and extend OSHA approved ladder which may exceed 50 pounds. (frequently)
• Ability to operate a laptop/computer, phone, other office productivity machinery (calculator, printer,
etc.), and measuring devices. (regularly)
• Manual dexterity and coordination to extend hands and arms in various directions, using fingers in
repetitive motion for keyboarding and writing. (regularly)
• Assess electronic reports and other computer functions. (frequently)
• Handle paperwork and files. (regularly)
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand by exchanging accurate
information in these situations.

Work Environment:
