We have offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Milwaukee. This position is remote with a preference for someone in the EST or CST time zones.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Data Scientist who sits at the intersection of web analytics, content intelligence and applied AI. This role goes beyond reporting and model-building. You’ll help optimize how the business operates by translating web traffic, user behavior and content signals into smarter decisions, better products and measurable growth.
You’ll work with large-scale datasets across web, video, and content ecosystems, and apply learning to improve performance across traffic acquisition, engagement, monetization and operational efficiency. You’ll build predictive models, develop and execute on insights that directly influence our strategies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage modern cloud technologies, and contribute to building scalable analytics solutions using traditional analytics, machine learning and Artificial Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and model large, sometimes complex, datasets, including web traffic, user behavior, engagement funnels, and video and content metadata
- Develop and deploy scalable machine learning models for forecasting, user segmentation, and content performance optimization tasks
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and workflows using GCP and BigQuery for data ingestion and transformation
- Leverage machine learning and AI techniques to improve decision-making, including experimentation, ranking, scoring and automation use cases
- Collaborate with product, business verticals, operations and engineering teams to align initiatives with technical and business objectives and KPIs
- Build dashboards and visualizations that provide visibility into performance, tends and opportunities across the business
- Translate insights into clear recommendations that influence strategy and prioritization to stakeholders
- Optimize queries and workflows in SQL and Python for performance, reliability and efficiency
- Continuously evaluate new capabilities and tools to improve efficiency, insight generation and business outcomes
- 2+ years experience in a data science or advanced analytics role, ideally supporting digital products or content and sales driven businesses
- Expertise in SQL and Python, with experience in statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Proficiency working in cloud environments. We use Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Dataform, Vertex AI. Gemini Enterprise experience is a plus
- Strong analytical judgment with the ability to move from data to decisions
- Solid understanding of web traffic analytics
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-moving, cross functional environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience applying AI or machine learning to optimize business workflows, content performance or user experiences
- Experience with vector search models and semantic search tools
- Experience with dashboarding tools and BI tools like Looker
- Background in experimentation frameworks, A/B testing and causal inference
- Knowledge of ad tech, monetization models, and/or revenue optimization using traffic and engagement data
