Role Description
As a School Sales Representative, you will be part of a national sales team and the face of Newsela out in the market. Reporting to the Manager of School Sales, you will be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school level. You will sell Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to schools in your territory.
- Manage pipeline and forecasting
- Oversee sales through the entire lifecycle
- Become well-versed in territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape
This is a remote role.
As an individual contributor who is part of a regional sales team, you will have the opportunity to own your territory, manage the entire lifecycle of a sale, and build new business relationships that bring Newsela’s solution to classrooms.
- Achieve your own revenue targets
- Work with a cross-functional team to scale Newsela’s national sales organization
- Impact the expansion and adoption of Newsela products
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience hitting or exceeding quota in selling SaaS products
- Expertise in navigating multiple stakeholders to engineer the right solution for each customer
- High volume / transactional approach to sales with proven experience building a book of business
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Possibly a background as a teacher or a good grasp of pedagogy
