Position Summary

ARCXIS is seeking a Florida-licensed Building Code Administrator (BCA) to oversee building code compliance activities associated with the Florida Building Code and the company’s Private Provider inspection and plan review services

This role provides technical leadership, regulatory oversight, and quality assurance for inspection and plan review operations conducted under Florida Statute 553.791 (Private Provider Services) . The Building Code Administrator ensures all ARCXIS services are performed in compliance with the Florida Building Code, local jurisdictional requirements, and state licensing regulations.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Florida Building Code Administrator with strong experience in construction inspections, plan review, and regulatory coordination , capable of supporting a rapidly growing private provider platform.


Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Oversight

  • Serve as the licensed Building Code Administrator of record for ARCXIS Florida operations where required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code (FBC) and related statutes including FS 468 and FS 553.791 .
  • Maintain oversight of ARCXIS plan review and inspection services conducted as a Private Provider .
  • Ensure proper certification and licensing compliance for inspectors and plans examiners.


Technical Leadership

  • Provide expert interpretation of the Florida Building Code, energy code, accessibility standards, and related regulations .
  • Review complex plans, code interpretations, and technical compliance issues.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to ARCXIS inspectors and plans examiners.


Operational Oversight

  • Establish and maintain quality control standards for inspections and plan reviews .
  • Oversee documentation, reporting, and compliance with jurisdictional submission requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including:
  • Private Provider operations
  • Engineering
  • Builder services
  • Inspection teams


Jurisdictional Coordination

  • Serve as a primary liaison with local building departments and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) .
  • Support resolution of code disputes or interpretation questions.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with municipal and county regulators.


Program Development

  • Assist in scaling ARCXIS’s Florida Private Provider platform .
  • Support development of standardized procedures and SOPs for Florida operations.
  • Contribute to training programs for inspectors and code professionals.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Building Code Administrator License issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) .
  • Certification under Florida Statute Chapter 468, Part XII .
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspections, plans examination, or code administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of:

o Florida Building Code

o Private Provider statutes (FS 553.791)

o Construction permitting and inspection processes

  • · Experience working with municipal building departments or private provider services .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional Florida certifications such as:
  • Building Plans Examiner
  • Building Inspector
  • Residential Inspector
  • Experience supporting large-scale residential construction programs .
  • Background working with production homebuilders .
  • Leadership experience supervising inspectors or plans examiners.
