Location: Remote

Facility: Pensacola - Offsite - Must live within 50 miles of Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital

Department/Specialty: Patient Support Services

Schedule: Full-time | Day shift | 8am - 5pm

Salary: $17.37 - $23.50 per hour

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Guide patients through the insurance and referral process to remove barriers to care and ensure timely access to needed services.

  • Verify insurance coverage and secure required authorizations to prevent delays, denials, and unexpected financial burdens for patients.

  • Coordinate referrals and schedule appointments within payer guidelines to keep care plans on track and aligned with network requirements.

  • Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and third-party payers to resolve coverage issues and support seamless care delivery.

  • Document authorization activity and coverage details accurately to maintain compliance, protect revenue integrity, and ensure continuity of care


What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:

  • High School or Equivalent required.
  • College coursework in accounting or business related subjects preferred.

Work Experience:

  • One year of experience working in a hospital, physician office or clinic setting required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • 2+ years of experience in medical insurance verification, prior authorizations, or referral coordination, preferably in a hospital or multi-specialty setting.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
