The Senior Database Developer will work closely with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to design, deploy, and maintain database technologies across public cloud and on-premise environments. This position involves full lifecycle database management, performance tuning, and process optimization with a focus on automation and reliability. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, has extensive Oracle and MySQL experience, and demonstrates expertise in database architecture, administration, and troubleshooting. You will also contribute to innovation, efficiency, and best practices while supporting both development and operational teams.
- Manage the full lifecycle of database systems including installation, configuration, deployment, administration, upgrades, and monitoring.
- Provide advanced technical support for Oracle and MySQL databases, including EBS environments, concurrent managers, workflows, and patching.
- Collaborate with software development and operational teams to define database structures, security controls, and operational guidelines.
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries, perform performance tuning, and ensure database high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data dictionaries, ERDs, and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics.
- Participate in on-call rotations and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across database and application tiers.
- Introduce process improvements, automation, and best practices to enhance database operations and reduce risks.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle and MySQL databases in a 24x7 mission-critical environment.
- Proven experience managing Oracle EBS environments, including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, and automated deployments using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data modeling, and maintaining enterprise data dictionaries.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, SQL optimization, and creating/maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams is a plus.
