Role Description

We are seeking a senior WordPress Consultant to lead the design, delivery, and optimization of enterprise-grade WordPress solutions. This role is client-facing and requires strong consulting skills, technical depth, and experience working with large organizations, multiple stakeholders, and high-visibility digital platforms.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients, translating business, marketing, and digital strategy requirements into scalable WordPress solutions
• Lead discovery, architecture discussions, and solution design sessions with client stakeholders
• Design, build, and optimize custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, security, accessibility, scalability, and maintainability
• Integrate WordPress with enterprise systems (CRM, analytics, identity providers, marketing platforms, payment gateways, APIs)
• Provide oversight on content modeling, publishing workflows, and governance
• Support production deployments, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization
• Collaborate with UX, engineering, DevOps, and project management teams to deliver on time and within scope
• Produce clear technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to client teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of WordPress development experience, including enterprise or high-traffic websites
• Demonstrated client-facing consulting experience with senior business and technical stakeholders
• Strong expertise in WordPress core, custom themes, plugins, hooks, custom post types, and REST APIs
• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL
• Experience with performance optimization, security hardening, and SEO best practices
• Familiarity with enterprise hosting environments and deployment workflows
• Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with WordPress multisite and complex content architectures
• Commerce platform integrations
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and compliance requirements
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and staging/production environments
• Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment
