Role Description
Purisolve, Inc. seeks a talented z/TPF Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will support the installation, customization, performance, and maintenance of enterprise server system software and hardware for the IBM z/TPF Operating System in a federal government environment. You will work directly with IRS computing center infrastructure, providing technical support, problem resolution, and remote training across the z/TPF and SACS processing environments. This is a 100% remote position requiring demonstrated expertise with IBM mainframe environments, including z/VM, and proficiency in IBM programming languages. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with specialized z/TPF systems and the discipline to maintain rigorous corporate security and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with the hardware and software comprising the IRS z/TPF and SACS processing environments.
- Specialized experience including application knowledge and expertise on the z/VM Operating System.
- Recent, demonstrated experience supporting z/TPF systems in an enterprise or government computing environment.
Requirements
- Experience on IBM z/TPF Operating Systems, including installation, customization, performance tuning, and maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience with the hardware and software comprising the IRS z/TPF and SACS processing environments.
- Expertise on the z/VM Operating System.
- Recent knowledge of TCP/IP and MQSeries.
- Proficiency in IBM languages: High-Level Assembler, "C", C++, and COBOL.
- Experience supporting TPF Control Program, including applying Program Update Tape (PUT), assembling, linking, and installing new images.
- Recent experience in System generation, Recoup, and capture/restore.
- Ability to develop and maintain ECC specific procedures and checklists in adherence with corporate security policies.
- Experience supporting IBM zSeries mainframes and government-directed hardware/software upgrades.
- Must be a US citizen or hold a 3-year green card.
- Must be able to pass a background check for public trust and tax compliance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

- Experience providing remote technical training to computing center staff.
- Familiarity with IRS or other federal agency mainframe environments.
- Experience with enterprise-level security policy development and compliance documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex mainframe environments.
