Role Description
The Temporary Patient Administrative Assistant (Part-time 20hrs/week) leads the coordination of specialty care and diagnostic imaging. They will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of outpatient referrals and the precise maintenance of patient medical records. The Patient Administrative Assistant will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure that our geriatric and disabled patient populations receive timely access to specialized services, ensuring all clinical documentation is accurate and accessible for the care team. This role is fully remote and provides support during our regular business hours.
Schedule: Temporary part-time position (20 hours/week, 4 hour work days) with high potential for permanent position, day shift hours, no evenings, weekends or holidays. Hours to be worked within 8am to 4:30pm Monday thru Thursday & 8am to 3pm on Fridays.
Location: This work from home role must be located in one of the Bluestone Markets (Minnesota, Wisconsin or Florida).
Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Duration of Temporary Assignment: 3 to 6 months with potential for permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating appointments with outpatient specialty providers.
- Maintain records by entering lab results and updating immunization history.
- Provide continuity of care for our patient care team by connecting patients to resources and services.
- Maintain a good working relationship and effective communication both within the department and with other departments for the benefit of the patient.
- Foster clear and efficient communication channels within the internal and external healthcare team.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant medical office experience.
- Proficient in navigating electronic medical record systems and working with patient care.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Detail oriented and accurate.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to work with Site Supervisors, Providers and others on the care team.
- Computer proficient.
- Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of patient care notes.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
