This Position reports to:

Head of Inside Sales


 

In this role, you will support a diverse range of industrial customers throughout the sales process by tailoring ABB products to meet their specific application requirements. You serve as a key customer-facing technical resource for ABB’s Low Voltage Drives business line within the Motion High Power Division in the United States. You will ensure technical excellence while supporting commercial success. Your domain expertise will be instrumental in strengthening customer relationships and driving business growth.

The work model for the role is: Remote; New Berlin, WI or Houston, TX area, with optional remote work from anywhere

This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Division.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Identify and understand true customer needs, delivering highly customized low-voltage drive application solutions that meet both technical requirements and commercial goals.

  • Communicate and present solutions clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (sales, feeder manufacturers, quotation teams, etc.) to maximize impact and influence during the sales phase.

  • Continuously expand product and application expertise to help position the organization as the regional knowledge hub for ABB low voltage drives and their applications.

  • Share expertise by training internal teams, external partners, and channel representatives to help them deliver superior customer experiences.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in electrical engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical application engineering

  • Practical knowledge of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), motors, and industrial fieldbus systems, etc.

  • Strong foundation in power electronics

  • Exceptional verbal and written communicator, skilled at simplifying complex technical topics. Flexible in adapting communication style to suit diverse audiences and environments.

  • Highly self-motivated with a proven ability to identify and solve complex problems.

  • Travel - requirement - 10 - 30%

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $98,700 and $157,920 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
