About the role

The Delivery Director, Marketing Services is a senior leader responsible for delivery excellence across our Marketing Services engagements, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, at the highest quality standards, and with measurable business impact. This role oversees a portfolio spanning marketing strategy, discoverability (SEO/AEO/GEO), content systems, data and analytics, marketing automation, personalization, experimentation, and performance marketing.

You will standardize methodology and performance measurement, manage and mentor talent, ensure resource alignment, and protect commercial performance while partnering closely with Practice leadership and Client Success to grow client value and practice revenue. The Delivery Director is a practice-embedded leader who plays a key role in shaping the operating system, building the team, and creating the conditions for consistent, scalable, outcome-oriented execution across Marketing Services engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of multiple Marketing Services programs and performance initiatives across strategy, discoverability, content systems, automation, experimentation, and performance marketing.
  • Establish clear, accountable delivery ownership for each engagement, ensuring proactive management of scope, budget, risk, performance metrics, and client expectations.
  • Implement and enforce best-in-class delivery frameworks, governance, and quality assurance processes aligned to marketing OKRs and measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner closely with client sponsors, Client Success Leads, and capability leaders to maintain alignment, transparency, and outcome accountability.
  • Serve as an escalation point for delivery conflicts and trade-offs, making timely, commercially sound decisions that protect client relationships and practice health
  • Develop and refine delivery processes tailored for Marketing Services engagements within a performance-driven model, including transformation programs and ongoing optimization retainers.
  • Ensure standards are documented, communicated, and adopted across the practice. Drive continuous improvement through delivery metrics, operational reviews, and performance retrospectives.
  • Align delivery performance to practice health metrics, including revenue growth, gross margin, revenue per employee, CSAT, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with capability leads and the resourcing team to forecast and manage staffing needs, ensuring optimal resource allocation and scalable capacity planning.
  • Contribute to the evolution of tools, AI enablement, governance models, and reporting frameworks that support efficient, high-impact execution.
  • Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Engagement Managers and Discipline. Leads operating across strategy, content, data, automation, experimentation, and performance marketing disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, commercial awareness, experimentation, and outcome-driven problem solving.
  • Provide clear growth paths and mentorship that strengthen delivery leadership capability and support long-term talent retention.
  • Promote collaboration across capabilities to ensure integrated execution within the Marketing Performance System.
  • Serve as a senior delivery point of contact for key client relationships, reinforcing trust, accountability, and measurable impact.
  • Partner with account and sales teams to scope new Marketing Services opportunities, estimate effort, and shape scalable, performance-oriented delivery models.
  • Contribute to business development by providing delivery assurance during pre-sales, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Support practice revenue objectives by ensuring disciplined estimation, strong commercial governance, and effective scope and change management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading Marketing Services or performance marketing delivery for complex, multi-workstream engagements in agency or consulting environments.
  • At least 5 years managing cross-functional teams across strategy, SEO/discoverability, content systems, data & analytics, automation, experimentation, and performance marketing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivery governance, estimation, SOW development, risk management, and change control across both transformation initiatives and ongoing performance retainers.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including revenue recognition, margin management, utilization planning, and forecasting.
  • Track record of effective people leadership, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Executive presence with clear, confident communication and the ability to resolve escalations while maintaining trust and partnership.

Preferred

  • Certifications (i.e. PMP, CSM/SAFe).
  • Experience standardizing delivery methodologies and tools at the practice level.
  • Pre-sales and solutioning experience, including developing delivery models and estimates
