Job Description
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, a science-related field, or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- At least 1 year of relevant editing experience, or an appropriate combination of editing experience and education
- Strong copyediting skills in grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and consistency
- Familiarity with the AMA Manual of Style
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed style guidance and program-specific instructions with accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Outlook
- Experience using Track Changes and comment-based workflows in Word
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise editorial queries and comments
- Ability to maintain concentration and accuracy across full document reads of dense or repetitive material
- Ability to manage time reliably and work within target levels of effort without sacrificing editorial quality.
