Specialized Epic builder focused exclusively on AI feature enablement , not a general analyst. Translates build requirements into configured, tested, and repeatable Epic AI configurations. Hands-on technical execution resource within the Compass AI delivery pod.
AI Feature Configuration: Configure Epic AI-adjacent modules, including clinical decision support rules, predictive model activation, workflow triggers, and Epic AI Foundations layer integrations.
Build Documentation: Create and maintain standardized build documentation and configuration templates to support repeatable deployment patterns across client environments.
Environment and Testing Management: Manage Epic environments(POC, build, training, production); coordinate and execute build validation, unit testing, and go-live readiness checks.
Workflow Integration: Collaborate with clinical and operational SMEs to configure Epic in alignment with workflow requirements defined by the AI Delivery Pod Lead.
Defect Resolution: Identify, document, and resolve configuration issues found during testing; escalate complex issues to the Pod Lead as appropriate.
Knowledge Transfer: Train and support client Epic teams on AI feature configuration and maintenance for sustained post-engagement adoption.
Requirement
REQ: Current Epic certification in one or more clinical or revenue cycle domains (Ambulatory, Inpatient, HIM, Resolute, Prelude)
REQ: 3+ years hands-on Epic build and configuration experience; this is a build role, not an analyst role, direct configuration accountability required
REQ: Proven ability to build and configure complex Epic modules, including workflow design, decision support rules, and system configuration settings
REQ: Deep understanding of Epic security models, environment management (POC, build, training), and Epic upgrade/patch processes
REQ: Experience standardizing and documenting build patterns for repeatability and scalability across client environments
REQ: 3+ years of experience in a healthcare provider, payer, or consulting organization supporting the healthcare space
OPT: Hands-on exposure to Epic AI modules (Cognitive Computing, NLP-based tools, predictive model activation, AIFoundations) strongly preferred
OPT: Experience with Epic Cheers, Epic Rover, or integrated third-party AI tools connecting to Epic
OPT: Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, APIs, and data integration patterns supporting AI model inputs/outputs within Epic
BA/BS in a related field preferred. Current Epic certification in a clinical or revenue cycle domain is required. Additional Epic certifications across multiple modules are strongly preferred.
Experienced working within Epic project team structures, including build sprints, go/no-go checklists, and issue tracking systems. Familiar with test script development and formal UAT coordination. Exposure to AI model operationalization within Epic is a strong differentiator.
