JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Key part of our Agile development squad. Develop exciting, new data-driven software solutions that will shape the future of our information business. Mentor junior team members, share knowledge, and deliver solutions using technical expertise. Assist with implementations of software releases and bug-fixes to improve performance, stability and data integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to identify software problems, prototype solutions and build creative solutions. Provide operational support for big data processes to ensure swift resolution of incidents. Develop operational effectiveness through proactive problem management and automation of manual operational tasks. Improve big data processing to help exceed service level agreement expectations. Perform other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- 7 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
- Also required is: 7 years of experience: utilizing Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, EJBs, Struts, and JavaScript to support web site display and navigation, implementation of site search functionality using Apache Solr, processing online purchases using Paypal Braintree, and processing and transferring online book orders to a proprietary fulfilment system according to EDI standards; using Database including Oracle, PLSQL, SQL Server and SSIS to ingest content meta-data in XML format from proprietary content repository using stored procedures, to ingest content meta-data loaded via proprietary JSON adapter, to retrieve user and order information from a book fulfillment database using store procedures, manage updates to account, product and sales information, and to triage customer service and application owner inquiries; using Environment including Linux, Unix, AWS, and Eclipse IDE to support site configuration, upgrades and software deployment, to integrate AWS features into web site operation, and too troubleshoot operational issues; and using Source code management including Jenkins and Github to create and merge software according to branch management procedures, support package creation via build management pipeline, deploy software via Git Webhooks, execute Checkmarks and Contrast to scan code, and to create release management plans.
- Employee reports to Elsevier, Inc. office in Maryland Heights, MO, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
- Experience can be concurrent.
SALARY RANGE FOR REQ# R110793 :
- $140,046.00 to $150,900/year + standard company benefits
