  • Provide direct technical support and applications engineering for passive optical connectivity solutions, including silicon photonics and PIC coupling applications.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop, validate, and optimize optical connectivity solutions for single-fiber, multi-fiber, and expanded beam systems.
  • Conduct technical training sessions on fiber optic inspection, cleaning, testing methodologies, and best practices.
  • Assist customers with optical system performance analysis, including loss budget calculations, insertion loss, return loss, and connector performance validation.
  • Support mechanical integration and optical system design using 3D CAD tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Capture customer requirements, document technical challenges, and communicate insights to internal product, engineering, and architecture teams.
  • Provide hands-on testing, inspection, and performance validation for fiber optic systems, while supporting advanced optical integration projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in optical systems, fiber optics, or photonics with customer-facing technical experience.
  • Strong understanding of optical principles, fiber connector technologies, and system integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and provide effective customer support.
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks) for optical/mechanical system design.
  • Knowledge of fiber polarity management, polarization maintaining fiber, and fusion splicing preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Willingness to work remotely in Silicon Valley and travel as needed.
  • Preferred: experience in telecommunications, data center, or AI/hyperscale computing applications, and hands-on optical testing experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary range: $135,800 – $203,700, plus potential incentives.
  • Comprehensive health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions.
  • Paid time off, vacation, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Life and disability insurance, employee stock purchase plans, and voluntary benefits.
  • Opportunities for technical mentorship, customer exposure, and career advancement in field applications engineering and product management.
  • Remote work flexibility within Silicon Valley and collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
