About the Role
The Senior Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Specialist will play a critical role in advancing access to MiniMed’s innovative diabetes devices by generating and communicating evidence that informs U.S. market access decisions. This role provides strategic guidance for key components of MiniMed’s Market Access plan, partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders to design, execute, and disseminate impactful HEOR and real world evidence. Leading with purpose, the successful candidate will help break down barriers to innovation—supporting a more connected, equitable, and compassionate healthcare system.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Work closely with cross functional partners within the Market Access team to support the development of evidence that will improve the understanding of treatment of diabetes and demonstrate the value of MiniMed’s extensive diabetes profile.
Generate data to inform strategic internal decisions as well as Health Care Decision Makers (HCDMs) to communicate the value of devices and therapeutics.
Develop U.S. specific evidence to meet requirements for optimal reimbursement coverage and usage.
Collaborate closely with reimbursement experts within the HEPR team to identify evidence needed and synergies.
Design and implement observational and economic research studies or economic models that provide value, perspective and evidence for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.
Conduct both systematic and targeted literature searches that will be foundational to the development of Value Dossiers in the AMCP 5.0 format for specific products/therapies.
Compare and evaluate the value of MiniMed’s products and therapies versus the other products in the market basket with respect to the clinical, economic, and outcomes data from clinical trials and Real-World Evidence studies including, epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys, and meta-analysis.
Collaborate with the Clinical Development team to ensure that an integrated evidence plan including Real-World Evidence is available at launch to support FDA approval and formulary coverage.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the evidence needed to inform Health Care Decision Makers in order to ensure that the evidence generated by Medtronic is relevant for payers across all books of business including, Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, as well as those of CMS.
Prepare observational and economic research study results for dissemination via abstract, presentation, and/or peer-reviewed publication.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry Or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry
Nice To Have
4+ years HEOR experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry
Degree in PharmD, Master’s degree, or PhD in epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, public health
An understanding of U.S. health insurance and the U.S. health care payment system
Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders including physician customers, hospital administrators or payers
Ability to communicate complex analytical techniques in a way that is understandable by non-quantitative audiences
Experience working with administrative claims data
Proficiency programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, R, etc.)
Strong quantitative skills, preferably with training in econometrics or statistics
Experience in the analysis, synthesis, and presentation of complex data from multiple sources

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$101,600.00 - $152,400.00
