About the Role
The Graphic Designer will play a key role in bringing the X Games brand to life across social, digital, broadcast, and marketing touchpoints.
This role reports directly to the Social Media Manager, who will manage priorities, workflow, and deliverables. While the primary focus is social-first creative, this role will also support broadcast initiatives and collaborate with the Creative Director as requested. All workload and prioritization will be coordinated through the Social Media Manager to ensure alignment and execution excellence.
This is a high-output, fast-turn creative role ideal for someone who thrives in live-event and sports environments.
Responsibilities
Social-First Creative Execution
- Design static and motion graphics optimized for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
- Adapt broadcast graphics into social-first formats
- Create templates, lower thirds, scorecards, carousels, thumbnails, and branded storytelling assets
- Ensure all assets are optimized for platform dimensions, performance, and audience engagement
Broadcast & Creative Support
- Support broadcast graphics and event design needs as requested
- Collaborate with the Creative Director on branded concepts, campaign visuals, and special initiatives
- Develop alternates and platform adaptations of campaign creative
- Support real-time sponsor integration graphics during live events
Workflow & Asset Management
- Execute against creative briefs and timelines set by the Social Media Manager
- Manage versioning and organization of creative assets
- Maintain design templates and brand consistency across platforms
- Collaborate closely with the Video Editor to ensure cohesive visual storytelling
- Handle multiple quick-turn projects simultaneously with quality and efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Partnerships, Live Events, Athlete Relations, and other internal teams on graphic needs
- Support agency partners when needed to ensure alignment with brand standards
- Contribute creative ideas that push the visual identity of X Games forward
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design and motion graphics for digital, social, sports, or entertainment brands
- Strong portfolio showcasing both static and motion work
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Experience creating motion graphics for social platforms
- Action sports knowledge (skate, BMX, moto, snow, etc.)
- Experience supporting both broadcast and digital creative environments
- Ability to translate athlete-driven moments into culturally relevant design
- Understanding of broadcast design principles is a plus
- Deep understanding of typography, layout, pacing, and visual storytelling
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, quick-turn environments
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Passion for sports, culture, and performance-driven content
- Willing and able to support nights and weekends during live events
The base salary range for this role is $60,000 – $70,000. Compensation is determined based on factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, job-related knowledge, and geographic location.
