Job Description
Responsibilities & Duties:
- We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician (Level II or Level III).
- In this position you will work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, and satisfying their expectations.
- Drive to worksites to diagnose and complete complex repairs on heavy duty trucks, trailers, etc.
- Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
- Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Complete required documents, such as service worksheets, time sheets, and warranty claims through handwritten forms and/or business system.
- Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong professionalism when working cohesively with all customers.
- Ability to work with no direct on-site supervision.
- Ability to make effective judgments to prioritize workload and time allocation.
- Ability to carry out full diagnostics using diagnostic tools on different product types; Experience using Cummins Insite Diagnostic Tool.
- Experience performing all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Ability to properly use parts books, services manuals, and QuickServe online.
- Experience using Cummins EDS System.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5+ years of experience working on heavy duty vehicle
- State Certified Diesel Mechanic Certification highly preferred
- Post-Secondary Certificate or training as a Diesel Technician
- Cummins Certified Master Diesel Technician / Mechanic preferred
- Experience with Ottawa/Kalmar products
- Must be able to lift/carry 30lbs frequently.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to lift/carry 100lbs during team lifts infrequently.
