Role Description
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for helping the accounting team with daily transactional data, AP processes, and month-end close. You will also be responsible for supporting the accounting department with owning multiple reports ensuring data integrity and accuracy. This role requires advanced analytical skills.
- Participate in full-cycle AP processes, including maintaining vendor records and W-9 compliance, processing invoices, and owning the daily clearing of high-volume transactional data (bank feeds, credit cards, and Ramp).
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and verify balances on the balance sheet.
- Review invoice coding and approvals to ensure accuracy and proper expense classification.
- Prepare & enter general journal entries as required.
- Provide support to billing operations as needed.
- Protect organizations by keeping information confidential.
- Support various parts of the month-end close processes.
- Assist the year-end financial audit process with external auditors by helping prepare schedules and pulling supporting documents.
- Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs.
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by management.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data entry or accounting roles. Multi-entity experience preferred.
- Strong technical skills: Proficiency in accounting ERP software (Ramp, NetSuite, etc.) and other financial reporting tools with above average Microsoft Excel skills.
- Technical accounting skills, research capabilities, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of full month-end close process.
- Outstanding customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different vendor and customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.
- Excellent ability to organize and coordinate tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy while working through repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in multiple online environments.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team player with the ability to work with all levels of employees, both internal and external, to ensure performance and excellent standards are maintained.
